June 4th, 2015 we celebrated 29 years (so far) with Operation Mobilization!

June was also a month at HOME.  It has been a long time since we had a month, or at least most of a month at home.  This DUZIE NEWZIE will highlight three very important events from this month as we trained future mission leaders, present national leaders and an important time focusing on needs of the young leaders of the Millennial and Gen Z generations.

Thank you for your prayers and partnership as we resource and release leaders, across the street and around the world, as OM’s NEX GEN Innovation Specialists.

Standing Strong and Creating Hope,
Dan & Suzie Potter … also known all around the world as … DUZIE

We were able this month to train 7 future OMers on how to share their faith story in a cross cultural way.  We taught for an hour and answered questions and then we went with them to Atlanta to experience it.

First stop: the Mosque, where we just listen to their stories to better understand their beliefs.  Next we went to Centennial Park, where in groups of two, we shared our stories and listened to people’s life stories.  Dan used “Magic” to open many doors, he was able to pray with 10 people.  Suzie mentored a girl during the afternoon on how to start meaningful conversations. It was a great opportunity to love God and people!

A group of OM leaders, both younger and older, gathered at a local community center to brainstorm OM’s reach into the Next Generation. We were asked to provide specific training on the present generation and the one soon to follow.

It was an honor to be part of a day of looking ahead, discussing changes and discovering our similar and different needs.

The following is a brief on Millennials (19-30 year olds):

  • Motivated by Meaning
  • Challenge Hierarchical Structures
  • Want relationship with the Boss
  • Tech Savvy
  • Open to Change
  • Task not Time Oriented
  • Hunger for Learning
  • Crave Constant Feedback
  • Want Recognition
  • Need Fun, Community Environment

If you or your church or group would like us to come and give a workshop on understanding the Next Generation, please let us know.
