During our 2 weeks on board the LOGOS HOPE in Cebu, Philippines, we had the opportunity to speak 46 times to audiences of about 4,600 kids, teens, young leaders, parents, pastors and curious locals.  Most of our training had to do with life coaching, innovation and leadership . . . from the various ship platforms as well as 39 other individual and departmental consultations.

It was an amazing time for us living “free2be” ourselves (and train others too):

  • Dan’s Passionality:  Transform Life through Creativity
  • Suzie’s Passionality:  Influence Potential through Connections

We had one month worth of Creativity & Connections in the 14 days, with our passions FULLY ALIVE (even if it took a week to recover afterwards)! It was an amazing opportunity to Resource & Release the Next Generation of 400 volunteers from 60 countries living onboard the Logos Hope!

We stepped off the airplane in Cebu Philippines, after 22 hours, of flights and waiting for flights. We quickly moved through customs, baggage claim and money exchange within 15 minutes.  It was the fastest arrival ever.

We stepped out the front door of the airport and heard the voice of our friend, Abelardo Perez, calling from across the street.  Our minds went back to the first time we met at least 6 years earlier in Montevideo, Uruguay.  Then, just a youth barely speaking english, we invited Abelardo to be a part of the TeenStreet program team.  Now on LOGOS HOPE, he directs all the programs and events onboard as an emerging leader with great English and an amazing sense of humor (pictured here with Regina, his girlfriend from Mexico, who leads the programs onboard).

What an amazing opportunity to walk the journey of life with these NEX GEN leaders!

We also reconnected to the OM Philippines team.  The team began helping street kids 10 years ago on our last visit on the Doulos, and now work side by side with local churches in tutoring those who need a better education, food distribution, ministry to street kids, street teens and the extreme poor, as well as relief work, and building homes for those who lost everything in recent natural disasters.

Sally Ababa, OM Philippines national leader (pictured here with us) invited us to a consultation one afternoon with the team.  We heard of the huge need to help the church with their teens.  So many churched kids leave the church after they turn 12, and how many churches have nothing available for them.  We discussed various ides and gave resources as well as dreaming of the possibility of us returning in December to provide in depth training for pastors and NEX GEN Leaders on influence, understanding next generation culture and youth ministry skills.  Pray for us as we try to squeeze this much needed event into an already tight schedule.

OM Philippines over the past years, has been involved in educating the street and underprivileged children in Cebu. We are pictured here with their “Scholars”, graduates of their programs, who were volunteers to share the Prodigal Son story and share an evangelistic message of Jesus with local visitors! They did an amazing job!

Hundreds of Thank You’s

We were typing this as we fly from the Philippines to Tokyo then Home. We just finished watching a 20 minute video that Nathi & the ships crew made for us, with the instruction not to watch it until after we were in the air. It captures person after person on board saying thank you and telling us what they learned or the effects of our lives upon theirs. We laughed and had tears watching these heartfelt comments. The first thing we thought is how none of this would be possible without your faithful prayers and financial partnership. May you feel their hundreds of thank you’s and may you somehow taste the fruit that we are so blessed to see.

Thank you again, for sending us out over and over again to Resource and Release Young Leaders to Influence their Generation towards Jesus. It has been an incredible honor to be able to partner these 2 weeks (which felt like more than a month) with the amazing crew of the Logos Hope and OM Philippines in Cebu, Philippines! May these seeds planted grow fruit with 100% multiplication all over the world!

Standing Strong and Creating Hope,

Dan & Suzie Potter… also known all over the world as… DUZIE
