My Social Transcendence Poem
By Dan Potter

Life of the party
Back of the room
They watch my tricks
I am someone soon
What should I say
Moments then pause
Plan it all out
I must add to time a cause
Remember a name
Then it is gone
But I remember your face
As if it were a song
So nervous with the many
I will follow Suzie’s cue
The door opens wide
I follow through
The bridge that I cross
Swings forth and back
But honestly do these people look
Like they are about to attack?
So be at peace
And be yourself
And if all else fails
Go over and talk to Ralph.
